Power Island Energy is a firm who deploys Combined Cooling Heat and Power Plants.  Several local Data Center locations are working with Power Island Energy on proposals for critical environment sites seeking alternative primary power sources other than the grid or an incumbent provider.  Data Center managers are questioning the distribution capabilities of the future grid, and pursuing the idea of "islanding"  critical power with onsite generation.

Mark A. Niemiec

Mark A. Niemiec started his career in the consumer products industry working for 4 major international companies; Kraft Foods (formally General Foods Corporation), PepsiCo Inc., Colgate-Palmolive Corp., and Campbell Soup Co.  He managed major capital projects including power generation and food processing installations. Over a 30 year period Mark had global packaging responsibilities for 3 of major consumer products companies. His business background in the consumer products industry covers both US and international markets.

In 1998 Mark created Global Packaging Innovations, L.L.C.  Mark’s clients included leading global consumer products and packaging companies.  The major international focus was the Australian/New Zealand markets.

Through 2000-2012 Mark developed an innovative patent portfolio titled “Drug Delivery Management System.”  The DDMS concept applies RFID technology to drug packaging and addresses the critical compliance and distribution issues in the pharmaceutical industry.  In 2012 Stanley Black& Decker Healthcare Solutions business unit acquired the patents.

In 2005, Mark formed Aussie Imports US, LLC and developed the G’Day Gourmet brand of flavored canned tuna and salmon products imported from Australia.  The G’Day Gourmet product was launched in 2006 exclusively with Whole Foods Market. The brand reached national distribution with leading natural/specialty retail chains including

Mark joined the management team of ScentSational Technologies, LLC in 2010 as Executive Vice President of Business Development.  Mark led the team that develop and commercialize a new product line of SunScent coating & inks in a joint venture with Sun Chemical.

Mark is currently the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Power Island Energy LLC.  He has developed a highly talented group of companies to design, build, and operate Distributed Energy CHP/CCHP facilities in the Mid-Atlantic market.

Mark received his B.S. in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University.
